Porcelain mortar & pestle. Dramatic earthy red and golden flashing. The porcelain is made from local kaolin which is abundant around my home in Northern Tasmania. Porcelain doesn’t always have to be thin and delicate. This mortar and pestle is designed to be robust and used for generations. In other words it has some weight to it. Crushed rock inclusions give the dark flecks. 18 cm wide, 9.25cm tall
